I’m a scientist with a PhD in Molecular Physiology from University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. My passion for science has led to years of questioning and experimenting, searching to corroborate or discard new hypotheses. From science arose my love for cooking! My lab bench and my kitchen island are parallel surfaces on which I conduct “experiments”; it can be a new protocol or a new recipe. As a child, I remember being mesmerized by my grandmother's gracious kitchen practices: The slicing of the meat, the folding of the dough, and the gentle final garnish. My fake tree-leaf salad had room for improvement! After her passing my grandmother entrusted me with her most precious cookbook, one I still keep at hand 30 years later. I have realized that cooking is most enjoyable when it is shared with those you love. I hope that when my kids smell a familiar food, they reminisce on their childhood, remembering moments we shared in the kitchen. I hope these thoughts create a sense of warm comfort, just as cooking does for me. I have gone to embed these same goals into every slice, every fold, every garnish, of all my dishes.
